Manos del uruguay is a non profit organisation which assembles over 400 artisans in cooperatives scattered throughout the countryside of uruaguay. the aim of the organisation is to bring economic and social opportunities to rural women.
we stock manos silk blend which is a blend of merino and silk hand dyed in large kettles to create a marbleized, subtly striated effect that forms a rich palette of glorious colours. no two skeins are exactly alike and there are no dye lots.
we also stock wool clasica a lustrous hand spun wool. dyed over wood fires the marbleized striaed yarn emerges, sometimes subtly, often dramatic, giving the effect of several colours in one single strand.
